The house is located on a quiet dead-end street, within an easy 5 minute stroll to a warm and gentle Nantucket Sound beach. Swim, play in the sand, and enjoy the view of Lewis Bay and many boats that enter Hyannis Inner Harbor every year. Walk to island ferries from Lewis Bay Retreat without having to worry about scarce parking.

Our recent guests the location of this home: ”We have had the most fantastic week. Your house is absolutely perfect, a real home from home – we could not have hoped for more! The situation in Hyannis was great, very peaceful but yet within easy walking distance of the beach and restaurants. We loved the convenience of the beach at the end of the road and it was great to sit and watch all the boat tours going past.”

Katama is an area in the town of Edgartown, Massachusetts, on the south shore of the island of Martha’s Vineyard. There are very proud homes that have been built here as of late. It is bordered on the west by Edgartown Great Pond, on the east by Katama Bay (separating Katama from the island of Chappaquiddick) and on the south by the Atlantic Ocean.
The word “Katama” comes from a Wampanoag word meaning “crab-fishing place.”
The terrain is a flat outwash plain, characterized by sandy soil and few trees. It is sometimes referred to as the “Great Plains.”

We own a new 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom vacation home in Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. The home comfortably sleeps up to eight people and features an outdoor shower. Construction on the home was completed in the Spring of 2007. Most important is location. The home is a quick three minute walk to the beach, so there is no hassle with parking or crowds. The home is located two miles from both Oak Bluffs Center and Vineyard Haven Center, so you are always a quick walk or drive away from the ferry, shopping, restaurants, arcade, banks, movie theater and all other common amenities.

There is a beautiful master bathroom with a rain shower, as well as a guest bath with a jacuzzi tub. The open floor plan includes a screened-in porch and a wrap around farmers porch. Real cape cod feel with modern amenities.

The home is cleaned between every rental. For your convenience we provide linens, towels, beach chairs, a cooler, a pack-n-play, a booster seat, and a baby gate.

House has a sunroom and outdoor patio with a huge yard and an ocean view. The living room has a fireplace. Little Compton is very quiet and peaceful. The house is on a dead end, single lane road with light traffic for even more quiet. Little Compton is a very safe town off the beaten path with excellent restaurants. There are 2 town beaches – one for dogs. Some PLACES OF INTEREST are the Commons, The Sakonnet Wine Vineyards (daily tours, and tasting), and Newport. Daytrips to Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Block Island are reasonable. The yard is very private behind the house and there is an outdoor shower. There is a patio off the sunroom at the end of the house. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, the second bedroom has a bunkbed with a queen-size on the bottom and a twin on the top. There are two bathrooms, one with a tub/shower and the other with a shower. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. There is Direct TV and wireless internet.WALKING, BICYCLING, and ROLLER BLADING are a joy on these flat, beautiful roads and paths (bring your own equipment)! There are TENNIS courts in town, near the common which are rarely used and available to summer residents. GOLF is 15 miles away in Portsmouth.
