Month of July offered (or August instead possible) Great for a family of up to 6, not a college crowd as neighborhood is quiet.

Located 1 1/2 miles from two beaches (20 minute walk) and a 5 minute drive to Hyannis Center.

The home has 3 bedrooms (2 with queen beds and one room with a bunk bed with twin on top, double on bottom along with another twin), a large modern kitchen/dining room combo, living room with gas fireplace, and one bathroom. Fenced-in back yard, safe for kids.

The house is 1 1/2 miles from Craigville Beach, one of the largest and most popular on Cape Cod. Craigville Beach is a warm Nantucket Sound beach with miles of sand. You can purchase a beach parking pass that allows you to park your car at all of the town of Barnstable beaches. That includes the amazing Sandy Neck beach with a lighthouse, 9,000-acre preserve with dunes, bird life, marshes, and shellfish (but a bit of a drive at 10 miles). Covell beach, Keys beach, Veterans beach, Fortes (adjoins Kennedy compound), Kalmus beach are all less than 2 miles from the home. Kalmus beach is one of the best northeast beaches for windsurfing.

The kitchen is fully applianced and includes dishwasher, microwave, stove, refrigerator, toaster oven, blender, coffemaker, and all requisite pots, pans, dinnerware and flatware. Linen/towels provided.

You can bike to the beach or to Main St – we have a couple of bicycles in the garage for your use and there are numerous bike rental places in Hyannis.

The house is a quick drive (less than 2 miles) to vibrant Main St in Hyannis – home to the Kennedy Museum, numerous restaurants, ice cream parlors, bookshops, boutiques, a carousel, and family amusement centers.

In Hyannis, you can take a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket, catch a whale-watching cruise out of Barnstable Harbor, a deep sea fishing expedition from Hyannis, take a drive along Old King’s Highway and do a little antiqueing, or play a round of golf at any of the nearby golf courses.

4 bedroom (sleeps 9) Home in Aquinnah (formally Gay Head), Martha’s Vineyard

This really is one of the best deals on Martha’s Vineyard. Magnificent post and beam house will all the amenities yet family and pet friendly and priced to be a great family value.

This secluded 2700sq ft red oak post and beam home is situated on four acres of Beetlebun groves, maple trees and miles of country roads. Only minutes from some of Americas finest beaches including the famed Gay Head cliffs. Aquinnah, formally the town of Gay Head of Moby Dick fame, is one of Martha’s Vineyards last truly rural escapes.The house is a marvel of modern conveniences melded to traditional farmhouse eloquence: four bedrooms plus a private sleeping loft, a great room with a fireplace and a modern kitchen. It has a finished basement garden apartment included in the rental (the apartment bedroom is considered on of the our bedrooms). Great for family, guests or moms helper. The Master bedroom has a sunken cast iron whirlpool tub resting in a platform of teak and sea stones for one of the must relaxing experiences you will ever enjoy. French doors off the master bedroom lead to a small private deck.

A large deck off the great room overlooks woods of maple and native island trees. It’s ideal for outdoor dining. The Kitchen has all the modern conveniences with the extra touch of a wood-fired bread oven. The kitchen was designed with function in mind. Lots of counter space for preparing quick meals or elaborate dinners. You can sleep 8 to 9 comfortably with two queens (one with memory form mattress), one doubles and three twins. And, of course a futon. In addition to four bedrooms is a private loft not considered a bedroom but a perfect place to sleep anyway. Three and a half baths plus an outdoor shower.

The house is wired for broadband and wifi for those that simply must stay connected. For those looking to completely escape, the night sky in Aquinnah is truly amazing. Situated on the tip of the Island, the Milky Way is visible on any clear night. Besides being the ideal summer retreat, the radiant floor heating and fireplaces make for a magical winter getaway.

Its a short bike ride to the beaches. The rental includes a beach parking pass for the bay side beach and parking access to the ocean side beaches can be purchases at town hall with your lease.

Prices range from $1900 to $3500. Ideal for two families. Family dog welcome with some restriction. (we have never rejected a family pet yet.)
